How to Catch ANIIMO!

The different Aniipods and how to get them

If you’ve just arrived in Idyll and immediately decided that every cute creature you see needs to come home with you… hi. Same. ✦

Catching is one of the biggest parts of ANIIMO, and your main tool for doing it is the Aniipod. But there isn’t just one. There are standard pods, stronger pods, pods that fly farther, pods that track moving ANIIMO, specialist options, and even guaranteed-catch items you absolutely do not want to waste.

First: how does catching work?

Find an ANIIMO → improve your catch chance → choose an Aniipod → aim → throw.

Your catch chance can be affected by the ANIIMO itself, your level, the Aniipod you use, remaining HP during combat, whether you approached from behind, and statuses such as BREAK, Sleep, Stun, Eating, Woozy, or Lured.

My beginner rule: make the catch easier before you make the Aniipod more expensive.

1. Aniipod

Catch multiplier: ×1

Your everyday option. Use it for common ANIIMO, routine exploration, filling out your Aniilog, and anything with an already-comfortable catch percentage.

You can replenish standard Aniipods through normal progression systems such as shops, quests, Adventure Token shops, Homeland production, Adventure Rank rewards, and chests.

2. Aniipod Pro

Catch multiplier: ×1.5

This is the “okay, I actually want this one” pod. Use it when a standard Aniipod feels a little too risky, but you do not need one of the specialist ×2 options.

Common acquisition routes include Elite Training, quests, Adventure Token shops, Homeland production, chests, and exchange systems.

The three ×2 Aniipods

Mega, Hyper, and Trace all give a ×2 catch multiplier, but they solve different problems.

3. Aniipod Mega

Catch multiplier: ×2

Use Mega when the catch percentage itself is the problem. Your shot is clean, the ANIIMO is not getting away, and you simply want better odds.

Current sources include Elite Training, quests, Adventure Token shops, Homeland production, limited events, reward chests, and upgrade/exchange routes.

4. Aniipod Hyper

Catch multiplier: ×2 · Specialty: longer/faster throw

Hyper is for distance. Use it for distant ANIIMO, awkward terrain, elevated targets, or situations where your ordinary throw does not comfortably reach.

Common routes include Companion Handbook rewards, Adventure Token shops, and shops.

5. Aniipod Trace

Catch multiplier: ×2 · Specialty: tracking

Trace is for movement. Use it for fast or evasive ANIIMO that keep changing direction after you throw.

Common routes include Companion Handbook rewards, Adventure Token shops, and shops.

Easy memory trick: Mega = odds · Hyper = distance · Trace = movement.

6. Tumbler

Normal catch multiplier: ×2 · Wild Surge/Nurture multiplier: ×6

Tumbler is a specialist option built around Wild Surge and Nurture content. Save these for the situations they were designed for instead of casually using them on ordinary catches.

They can come from Elite Training, Glimmer purchases, Nurture progression, Adventure Token shops, quests, chests, and event rewards.

7. Aniipod Ultra

Catch result: guaranteed

This is insurance, not your next everyday upgrade. Use it when an ANIIMO is extremely rare, you have been hunting that exact target, or you simply refuse to let RNG ruin your evening.

Possible sources include Elite Training, Glimmer purchases, item exchanges, shops, reward chests, and events.

8. Sparkling Cube

Catch result: guaranteed · Result: Sparkling ANIIMO

The Sparkling Cube guarantees the catch and makes that ANIIMO Sparkling. Translation: do not throw these randomly.

Sources include Elite Training, the Fun Stamp Collection Shop, Companion Handbook rewards, shops, exchanges, and special events.

9. Legendary Aniipod

The Legendary Aniipod is tied specifically to Irisalis. It functions more like a story key than an ordinary inventory item.

The general flow is: explore + progress the story → collect Legendary Tokens → craft your Legendary Aniipod → unlock the Irisalis encounter → defeat Irisalis → use your crafted pod.

✦ Which Aniipod should I use?

Shortest version: good odds → Aniipod · better odds → Pro · bad odds → Mega · too far → Hyper · too fast → Trace · Wild Surge → Tumbler · must catch → Ultra · make it Sparkling → Sparkling Cube · Irisalis → Legendary.

Catching tricks that can save your Aniipods

Approach from behind

A valid back approach can improve your catch situation before you ever spend a better pod. Sneaky girlies win.

Lower the ANIIMO’s HP

During combat, lower HP can improve your capture odds. If your percentage is awful, do not immediately blame the pod.

BREAK is your friend

BREAK and other statuses such as Sleep, Stun, Eating, Woozy, and Lured can help. Catching has a little more strategy under the cuteness than it first appears.

Some ANIIMO cannot be caught yet

A 0% chance does not always mean “use a better Aniipod.” Sometimes the encounter itself has a capture restriction. Before you burn five expensive pods on a stubborn 0%, check what kind of encounter you are actually in.

My Aniipod inventory strategy

Use freely: Aniipod + Aniipod Pro.

Use intentionally: Mega + Hyper + Trace + Tumbler.

Hands off until necessary: Ultra + Sparkling Cube + Legendary Aniipod.

Final advice

The best Aniipod is not automatically the rarest one in your bag. It is the cheapest one that solves the problem you are having.

If the ANIIMO is standing still and your catch chance is already good? Throw the regular pod. Far away? Hyper. Running? Trace. Terrible odds? Mega. A rare little angel you refuse to lose? Ultra. And if you find the one you want sparkling? ✨ Cube her. ✨
